CELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT: Nina Dobrev

There are many places in which people find inspiration for their personal styles. A big inspiration for myself is celebrity style. I don't know about you guys, but I certainly spend a lot of time reading Best Dressed lists, voting "Who Wore it Best," and looking at red carpet pictures online.

Over the past few years, one young lady in Hollywood who has made a name for herself is the lovely Nina Dobrev. You might know her from her early career days on Degrassi, from her supporting role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, or from the show that made her famous, The Vampire Diaries. You may envy her for her natural beauty or her hot boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder, but I certainly envy her for her style. In particular, the exquisite couture she wears on the red carpet. From her stunning red Donna Karan at the 2011 Emmy Awards that landed her on all the Best Dressed lists, or the fun Zuhair Murad from the 2012 I Heart Radio Music Festival, she's always trying new things and always seems to get them right.

Like many girls in New York, I have too many shoes and not enough closet. It's a problem with an easy solution (and no, it's not to get a bigger closet). Just get rid of some shoes. Problem solved. Right? No. Every pair of shoes I own - even the ones who don't get as much love and use as they deserve - is there for a reason. Whether it is because that pair was my first designer pair of heels, or because I found them in a flea market and love them even though they're too tight, or because they were handed down from my mother, or because they're simple black booties and go with everything, they're all special and they're all important.

Not all people understand that, but fashion lovers do. Even if he or she doesn't love shoes like I do, maybe they love handbags or jackets like I love shoes, and they'll understand.

I've always been fascinated by fashion - its trends, its industry, and how it has evolved into what we see everyday on the streets, on television, in magazines, and in our closets. My goal is to spread some of the love, and share my personal opinion on all things fashion. From trends to runway collections to celebrity style, here you will be able to see my take on all of it.
